has anyone deleted the abs wiring on a 2g?

Has anyone ever successfully removed the abs wiring out of the engine harness on a 2G? Im talking about the crap under the passenger side floor all the way around to the driver side under the dash? Im just wondering if the abs wiring is tied into any thing important? im cleaning up the engine bay and the abs doesnt work anyways.

My eclipse was recently in an accident and the whole side was smashed in and the abs unit was pushed out and down and was rubbing on the tire so me and my buddy removed it it came out pretty easily and we took out all the lines for it too.. all you need to do after that is get the non abs proportioning valve, hook the lines up and your good to go!

Im talking about the wiring in the harness. Removing un needed abs wires that are weaved thru the harness. Not the brake lines themselves.

This is just the wires that go from the ABS thing in the driver side fender to the fuse box. The only way to really delete it and get it looking clean is to take the harness out and do it like this. There are a few wires that tap into other ones (powers and grounds mostly)..

I only went as far as removing the abs computer, the giant heavy proportioning thing and wheel sensors. The harness is fairly well hidden

+1, Also removed the computer, lines, and hydraulic unit.... left the wiring since it is pretty well hidden (and wiring gives me a headache..). Then pulled the ABS light from the cluster.

The ABS delete kit that STM sells is a great delete option.

You can removed the system and wiring without affecting anything else on the car.
Removing the harness/wiring for it is tricky.

Ive also removed the abs computer, metal trays and one of the wheel sensors (chucked it when changing a wheel bearing), but left the big plug and wire loom for now. Its too cold out around here right now to be working outside! Well at least to be pulling wiring harnesses out.

I wouldnt waste my money on that kit.. 250 bucks for lines that arent designed for these cars!!! Eff that. I lucked out with my donor car being a non ABS car. I just took the stock hard lines. If it didnt turn out that way, I would have just went to a junk yard and got the necessary parts for the delete.

They are stainless steel braided lines with an OEM proportioning valve. Plus when you live in the rust belt, it's virtually impossible to find anything like that that isn't rotted out. Car has excellent brake pedal feel and braking performance, so it doesn't concern me. But if you want to go along with that sort of logic, then technically doing any sort of modifications to the car that is not OE would be of a great concern.

On top of that, have you ever seen how people patch together their rusty brake lines? Now THAT is scary. (I worked in a parts store for years)

Removing the wiring is EXTREMELY simple. Also yes the STM kit is super nice!

The STM kit is nice but at the same time I bought my OEM prop valve, fittings and a roll of line for less then $100.

Gotta love California donor cars!! I have seen some pretty shotty break line jobs here as well.. I mean my winters arent much different than yours!
