420A Harmonic Balancer? Belt falling off 3 times!

HELP!!

Hey guys, trying to fix my daughter’s 97 GS. Belt has fallen off twice. First time seems like the alternator was never tighten properly. Then a week later it falls off and then a week after that it was the alternator belt was half way off.

Nothing looks bent or off, only thing I can think of is the harmonic balancer is bad… so i am trying to replace it but there is NO room to remove it. Do I need to lower the engine In order to remove it on my 420a GS??

I took a couple pictures. The rubber inside the balancer looks cracked and behind the where the timing belt cover is, it looks like it was rubbing against it.. could it wobble that much??

You have to remove the passenger side engine mount. It only has one bolt and two nuts. Place a floor jack under the oil pan to support some of the weight and lower it slowly.

Thank you! Did this and was able to get it JUST enough to get it off. Major pain. Just to have the alternator belt to still vibrate. Fml
