so i just got my rebuilt motor in the car. and it is running great.
the problem is when the car is cold it is a bi*** to start. i need to turn the key like 4 or 5 times. and sometimes it throws a P0505 code. which is idle air system malfunction. the code doesnt happen everytime though. and it only does this when it is cold. when the car is warmed up it starts normally.
also when putting the motor back in the CAS got knocked off and i have it soldered together. like i said the car is running great so i dont know if that has anyhting to do with starting.

not sure what the code means or what else could be causing this.

thanks

The motor is brand new(its tight) that means you got what you paid for...it will last awhile.
....so you think it should be like that. no, there is no "tight"motor. it should start without a problem. and the problem is a sensor or something because my motor was built by one of the best builders in chicago.

anyone else have an idea.

Funny you say P0505, as my car just threw that code on the way home from a friends house this morning.

P0505 = IAC fault. Check your IAC with a voltmeter, use your Hayne's/Chilton's/Anarchist Cookbook to find out how to test your IAC.
