hard to start when cold

So I'm trying to end this freaking awd swap now...and before the car would start and it would grind...now its REALLY hard to start.

About an hour ago, the car did start and ran and idled fine and everything..but when I shut the car off then tried to turn it back on...the car was like "middle finger to you!"

The only difference between now and the last time I started the car (Tuesday) is it's dropped from 50* to about 30*...maybe that's the problem?

Complete mod list:
99 wiring, ecu, engine, tranny, etc. (using ecuflash+evoscan)
fidanza flywheel
southbend clutch

cxracing fmic (I'm preparing for a holset, so dont judge the fmic+t25 combo) w/ 1g dodge mod recirc

CEL currently on...codes: p0141, p0446, p1104

It might be the combination of the cold plus one of those CEL have you ever had a problem starting it in the cold before?

I would assume a fiav valve problem when I drove my car down from Ohio last week it was a pain to start. It has no emmision and no fiav valve

How old is the battary? Or is it turning over fine just not starting

Engine coolant temp sensor? I had some what of a similar problem and that's what it was.

Leaky injectors? Possibly...I mean it took me about 10-15 minutes last night to start. I got it and ran for about 10 minutes and then cut the car off..then went to immediately turn it back on and it couldn't.

Battery is.putting out 13-14v. It's about a month old

Ect...another possibility

Also...after trying to start it for more than 10 seconds it sounds like the starter gear doesn't even hit the flywheel...like it just makes this high pitch whir sound...maybe tighten the starter bolts?

Sounds like a warm up enrichment problem, I agree with checking coolant temp sensor. If that's off, your ECU will dump a ton of gas into the engine during startup even after it's warmed up. That would explain why the problem happens when it's cold outside. It detects the ambient temperature being cold, can't get a reading (or gets a false reading) from the coolant temp sensor, and does a really rich startup.

Well check the starter. Sounds like we may be getting to the bottom of it. My talon did that last summer as well. Them 2 days later starter stoped working all together. If it turns but doesnt ingage then thats the problem or part of it...

Finally had a day off to work on the car. Turns out the starter bolts weren't in tight enough. Turned them in a bit tighter, put the battery in and started up missing most of its intercooler piping

God I'm such a noob at times...

It sound to me like it might be a combo of the battery and the starter.
