Hey guys!! heres another thread about hard to start when cold!!!LOL..I have a daily driver 92 eagle talon 2.0 n/t..I have replaced throttle body. the cts sensor.plugs and wires.it has a new radiator.new battery..and when its really cold outside it takes about 8 tries before it starts and then it acts like it wants to bog out and die..when it is warm it runs and starts up fine...it also sounds like it has tiny little backfires until it has completely warmed up...any help or ideas would be great..thanks guys!!!:thumb:

I would check the battery, and the starter, if its still the factory start from 92 you might want to replace it.

battery is new...starter isnt new but ill throw one on..i could understand if it didnt turn over at all but it does...but ill do it bc i have a new one layin around...any other possibilites?

i changed starter and battery..still hard to start when cold...couldnt find any vaccum leaks anywhere...after i warmed the car up and took it for a ride it purred like a kitten...no miss or anything..idle was fine too..help me please dsm wisemen...LOL..

Which cts sensor did you replace? The cheap one is for the cluster gauge, the expensive one is the one the ecu uses. Have you checked your timing?

i just put a new timing belt on the car and checked the timing with a gun and its good..I did buy a sensor(2prong) the one thats next to the (1prong)sensor..it was like 17 bucks..with my discount from the dealer...and i did have the fuel pressure sensor unplugged when i got rid of the vac lines on the throttle body and evap canister and egr...should i put the vac lines back on?

The fuel pressure selionid helps for cold starting. Put it back in.

ok guys? where is the soleniod at? anyone got a pic? i just want to make sure im hookin up the right thing..I went to start the car today when i got off of work and it wouldnt even fire up bc its like 15 degrees here? i also noticed that the was also a sensor or something on the thermostat housing that has what looks like 2 vac lines would hook up to..what is that? any help??? LOL

make sure your thermostate isnt stuck open is would mean your engine wuold be cooling befor it was suppose too and not let it heat up fast enought

its about 35 degrees here and it will finally start up after about 10 times of turning the key...luckily it doesnt kill the battery..i have change out all sensors on the t-stat housing? any other possibilites guys? maybe fuel pump?

well i got a used maf bc it was throwing a cel light for a bunch of stuff that was in the maf so i changed the maf and cleared the codes and then come to find out my computer was fried

well guys!!!! i got a ecu from local junkyard!!! put it in and bam!!!! she fired right up!!! it was about 65 degrees...so again i went outside this morning at about 30 degrees or so and she fired right up on the first try!!! so it turned out to be my computer!!!i pulled the case off of the old ecu and sure enough a capacitor had leaked and a nice spot on the board was burnt!!:thumb:

I've been having the same problem with cold start. It was getting worse and worse as it got colder. I spent 30 minutes one morning trying to start it up. Finally decided to hook a hair dryer up on the ignitor and after just a few minutes it fired right up. The next day I took the ignitor off and keep inside over night and put it on when I got ready to start the car. It fired up the first time. It could be a coincidence, but it seemed to take care of my problem. May be moisture setting up and freezing inside the ignitor which would cause you to not have any spark.
