2G Hard to shift

First thoughts would be the clutch, slave cylinder or pedal adjustment.

By hard to shift, do you mean it grinds into gear or that it is physically hard to push the shifter into gear?

Has any work been done on it recently?

Was the master cylinder replaced to fix the same problem a year ago? May be fighting a worn out clutch and pp. Or possible that air has finally worked its way into the line if it's squishy.

Another thought if all of that is good is the shifter cable bracket on the trans. If this has come loose for whatever reason it will have the same effect.

I second this. I had this same problem with an old honda. It was a fight trying to get the car in gear. Turned out my cables were loose as a cheap floozie. This can be checked very quickly. Before he starts spending money on things I'd check this for the heck of it.

Something similar happend to me, the cable became loose. I also added some red line gear oil to the tranny it felt better than ever! check cable linkage

I am still putting mine car back together and this was a good thing to come across. I will remember that if I have any issues.
