I read some other threads, but didn't really find anything that is like mine, because many were with rebuilt trannies or new.

So I've had my car for 3 years no problems until now. The car has been getting harder and harder to get into gear this past 2 weeks. It's mostly first gear from a stop. I really have to PUSH it in there.

when I try to lightly push it in, it is like something feels like it's blocking me from getting it into gear, and I can kind of hear a whining noise, and until I REALLY push it in, it won't go. It seems to be getting worse.

Shifting while driving is feeling a bit weirder as well, pedal pressure is sometimes inconsistent.

I read some things about maybe the slave cylinder or master problem? As well as a clutch replacement.....I'm just trying to narrow down the problem, and figured I could get some advice from others. Any help would be appreciated. I have to go to work, so I'll reply later tonight if anyone has any questions or input.

Thanks guys

Mike

IMO it sounds like your Sync/Syncs are going bad..

I have the same exact problem, I have replaced my slave, master cyl, clutch fork, fulcrum, ss line, new clutch and flywheel and she still does it, only in first. So my last resort is the syncs. But try to see if your slave is leaking or the master. If the are fine then the clutch fork might be bent. The clutch is draging, you need to stop it now before it destroys the syncs.

The OP's problems sounds more like a clutch disengagement issue than anything else. Drain the transmission and put fresh fluid in it. You may be having bearing failure or synchro failure, but I would still bleed and adjust the clutch hydraulic system first before pulling a transmission to replace a clutch or rebuild a transmission.
