Happened again, Engine knock :(

Happened again. Went to visit my dad in Texas again, but this time I let my brother drive my car so it wouldn't sit for two weeks.

Got back Sunday, it was running fine. Tuesday did a 150 mile trip to my girlfriends and back. Got back Wednesday. Started it up to go to work yesterday and I hear a knocking.

Want to say it's coming from the front of the motor, but real hard to tell.

About to take the valve off again and see what I can see up top.

I would pull the valve cover and check to see that nothing is broken .

its hard to tell you need to put your hand on the head and then the block to feel where to noise is stronger at. it sounds like there is something in the timing area that is making the noise but again its hard to tell from the video. i wouldnt drive it hard untill you figure it out. usually rod knock sounds different (louder) then what you have going on but it could be.

Sounds like the bearings in you idler or tensioner pulley for the timing belt are bad. hearing is the ball bearings knocking into one another. Notice how its not directly related to rpms? When you rev it it changes the noise but not in the way that would say its related to the engines valvetrain or rotating assembly.

Didn't notice that my brother had made this thread. But I think I have pin pointed it to maybe the alternator.

I personally do not think it is knocking inside.
When you rev it, i don't hear the knock speed up.

So since it isn't RPM dependent then it isn't rod knock.
