Hello everyone, I was doing some "spirited driving" a couple of nights ago and afterwards nothing happened. My Dsm ran like normal. Then about half an hour later I hear a slight knock; i thought nothing of it becuase i was in denial hoping it was the car next to me. To my dissapointment, the knocking got louder and louder and it would not stop. My friend told me he had the same noise coming from his 420a Dsm as well and that it might be piston that I screwed up. But I DID do some research on this forum and I found out that I might have spun a bearing or 2. The noise is a very loud and noticable fast knoock in my block. Can somebody clear this up for me? I cant quite put my finger on it. I think low oil had something to do with it becuase i was told that my head was torqued down wrong and it was warped. That probably expains all the oil in the back of my head and block. TIA

If you are hearing a loud knock that is usually one of your rod bearings that is bad. Don't run the car or drive it anymore if you plan on rebuilding the engine. You will only circulate metal shavings throughout the oil passages and possibly damage your head. Be prepared to spend a lot of money, don't try to be cheap on this kind of stuff it will only cost you more in the end.

Use a stethoscope to isolate the location of the noise. Post a video with quality audio if you are unsure, and we may be able to help point you in the right direction.

I think I mite be screwed with those metal shavings because I drove about 30 miles home with the car like that :nono: ok I am going to upload a video within the next couple of days

You can always pull off your oil pan and check for metal shavings. That shoud take less than an hour.
