Half boost after battery install

so i installed a new battery and it died in 5 days(i think i have a short in my subs wiring). anyway, the day i put it in i was ok and the following day in first gear my awesome stock boost guage read half boost. and it doesnt even max out in 2nd. my bov is not as loud as it had been. what could be wrong. i checked my hoses and clamps, they seem ok.

Your stock boost gauge sucks! Its not a boost gauge its a boost estimator. You need a aftermarket boost gauge to tell us if its actually only getting "half boost"
 
Like PIMking said the factory boost Gauge in not correct go aftermarket. Sounds like a boost leak. Maybe when switching batts you hit something causing a boost leak check your intake to IC pipe.
 
Do a boost leak test on it and see if you could have moved a pipe while installing the new battery causing a leak.
 
alright i assumed it was a leak. i will check it out after i get a new battery. thanks and yea i know the factory boost guage sux but im doing a big project soon and that is part of the project, thanks, jeremy
 
so i got a new battery and checked and tightened every hose and clamp possible and i still have less power. my rpm's cap at 4500 and they drop to close to zero and regain after i coast to a neutral stop. also it stalled in neutral as i was decelerating. that has gone away but the car seems so much slower than b4 the battery. is there a reset or an ecu reset that needs to be done, lmk what you guys/gals think, jeremy
 
Did you do a boost leak test?

If you changed your battery then your ecu is reset. To reset an ecu (to varying degrees of effectiveness) you can either unhook the battery for a minute or so or you can use and obd2 tool to reset it. Your ecu being reset is not the problem though, I would expect a big boost leak or perhaps you might have pulled off or damaged either an injector lead or spark plug lead.
