Its on the inside of the housing where the mani dumps the exhaust in and is no where near the outside or is in a place that would leak exhaust out. Please help me out I need to know before staurday. uh.... I doubt the JB would be there in an hour. You might be able to find specs of it mixed in with the bits of broken turbing trapped by the cat, though.

yeah jb weld even the high temp stuff wont last much longer after start up. What is a catalytic converter???j/k I have a glass pack in place of mine...please dont tell the cops haha

Thank you for the responses I was told by pheonix rsx or gsntc or whatever that it worked great when he had it on and I trust him so Im gonna go for it.

hi, i just got a used 14b, and it has the cracks too, I have no problem welding it up, but don't know how severe the cracks are compared to others.
Just wondering if anyone thinks it's beyond fixing.

it doesnt look good . from the pic it looks like is around the flapper for wastegate, which in return may cause boost spikes?

boost spikes? im no expert but i would think it would cause the opposite, like slow spool and stuff.

i think because the air would slip out the cracks causing less to go out the turbo part and more out of the WG right??

i dont know just my .02

Should I port it or is that a danger to my housing? or maybe if possible weld it then port? remember the closest i've come to welding something is a JB weld.

To weld this you will need to know what you are doing and use either 309 stainless or Ni-Rod44 as filler. The big issue is being able to even get to the cracks to weld them and getting the iron clean after all of the contamination from exhaust.

I would run it as it is and if you are worried, look for a better housing but know that those types of cracks are very common.

i have the exact same cracks on a 14b just like that. i picked it up a few weeks back for a good price and i was going put it on my 2g daily driver. shoud i try to put it on and see how it runs or is it even worth putting her on casue it wont run right ????

my fp18g has a small crack that goes all the way through and it dont seem to hurt the performance any.. so idk
