so what i have is a 93 talon tsi awd 5 speed with a 6 bolt swap

i need to know what color is the signal wire for the oil pressure gauge it should be just 1 wire, also i need to know what wire off of the headlight switch feeds the dash lights.. and since its a 93 but the motor is a 91 does the idle switch (1 wire sensor) on the throttlebody need to be hooked up because it isnt... the kid who had this car before me was a real hack im just trying to get things sorted..

also the car will randomly stall and then not restart, it wont even try to fire (it has spark and fuel pressure at all time) im pretty sure the injectors stop firing.. then if i wait 30 seconds, 5 minutes, sometimes 30 minutes it starts back up llike nothing was wrong then it will just cut off again, no sputtering or eratic behavior just shuts down like i turned the key off. please guys any info you have would be great.

on another related note i know the main and rod bearings in the motor are brand new but the balance shaft bearing and balance shaft are shot will those make a rapping sound? i know its not piston slap, i know its not a rod knock, and everything else is brand new in the motor except the oil pump, balance shaft, and lifters what could make a "Knocking sound"

any ideas guys? im rlly just trying to save this thing its already come a long way and i already have a lot of money into it i paid waaaay more than i should have but its rot free and ive kinda gotten attached to my "Basket case"

yes the closed throttle switch needs to be hooked up. That wire tells the ecu to try and achieve the target idle.

the oil pressure sender is a yellow wire

so got everything sorted... thinking back maybe i should have replaced the scored balance shaft bearing ### i have no oil pressure on the factory gauge at idle0... only when i rev it up and its rapping, hope i didnt hurt the new mains rods and crankshaft..... i didnt know it had no oil pressure the kid i bought it from didnt tell me the gauge was grounded out and stuck in the middle.. once i fixed it it was at L ...

it probably has a little over 30 minutes of idle time on it like this i havnt driven it and only revd it up a few times... ill drop the pan check the center main bearing and number 1 rod bearing and hope for the best..

Best of luck to you, guy before me didn't tell me bolts were broken and mid-crank bearings were melted. Where the hell do these guys get together and ruin our pre-cars?!?
