My guess is that he's referring to E85 as "pump gas"
Edit: nevermind maybe... didn't notice what car I was talking about. Now I remember the 10 page long thread with everyone arguing he couldn't have got into the 10s on a 3052 with pump gas

Hmm, O'Reily's doesn't carry them. Where do you get them from?
For people running 25+ psi on 91 octane is either bs-ing or their car runs like crap and is slow because of all the pulled timing or overly rich fuel.
I use dsmlink w/ a WB and I can only run about 23-24psi on my e316g. But my cars is just as fast at 20 psi because I can lean it out to where it should be vs keeping overly rich to run the higher boost.
I just don't want people to think that you should run 25+ psi on pump gas.
.Jsut because you can't tune it doesn't mean it can't be done![]()
.
I know several guys running medium framed turbos w/ pump gas and seeing 28, 29, 30 psi manifold pressures. Remember, compressor efficiency has ver little to do w/ intake manifold temps once a decent intercooler is introduced. ALL these guys have LARGE intercoolers and have spent most of their time tuning the rpm range from the start of spool to peak torque (which usually is close to full spool). Retardign the timing here helps the spool time and stops that spike in knock that is inherent to that time in the rpm range. If you can get through that point of "knock likelyhood", then you should be able to bring on full timing advance.
It's too hard for me to do, too. I use water injection.

Dropping to 21psi is not running 24+. I can probably run 30 psi for about 200rpms if I let it drop to 21 psi after that. And honestly, for people with dsmlink and a WB, tuning is really not that hard. Its not a magic art. Set the boost you want to run, set the A/F you target, and then deal with timing as needed. Just know that peak cylinder pressures are around 5500RPM on the 4G63.
