halifax,
So I thought I would update the progress so far: 1992 tsi awd 5 sp
I started with a gt35r ball bearing turbo with a .82 hotside that was switched over to the .63 hotside for quicker spool (i know it still wont be that quick)
Mods include:
wiseco forged pistons 7.8:1 cr with eagle rods
balanced crank, evo 3 block bored .20 over

Arp headstuds, cometic headgasket, HKS stage 2 regrind cams
obx tubular exhaust manifold with tial 38mm wastegate, 3"downpipe with 2.5"exhaust (will upgrade as well)
precision 350 fmic with hard piping and turboxs rfl bov
precision 880cc injectors, walbro 255fp, afpr
cobalt boost guage, turbo smart manual boost controller
act2600 clutch kit
maft with 3"gm maf
dynojet wideband

So the engine is being put together right now and should be tuned next weekend. I know my goal is way below what it should be with the gt35r but im only hoping for 400hp for a good streetable daily driver. Please feel free to comment unless its just about the turbo being too big for the goal LOL i will have the numbers hopefully next week.
Only question I have is will this be a reliable setup for 400awhp? or will i need anything else. I will be getting dsmlink soon but anything else. thanks for looking

ok.. it only does it when its running as well if that helps. Now i know there may be a price difference for the pump at different autoparts dealers, but how much would 1 usually cost? and is it a big job to have it replaced

to replace a water pump you have to pull off the front timing covers and timing belt.

Only doing it when running could indicate the water pump also. I believe they cost about $80. Go to Modern Automotive Performance: Your source for turbocharged sport compact performance! or www.jnztuning.com

I don't remember 100% but I believe the timing belt is in the way of it.

LOL sh*t im really really hoping its just a hose thats split. i just got done paying for this build and its my dd so i will be in a really tight spot if its the pump. i was lookin at some pics of a guys talon on this site that the pump had started to leak but the coolant was leaking on the *belts side* of the engine. mine is more on the side of the oil filter. so please someone make me feel better and say it *could* be a hose hahaha

ok how about i make a video for u.. i will go outside right now and do it. the car will be really loud and annoying tho ### for the first 2 minutes or so it idle surges up around 2.5k rpm LOL its gettin dark outside but u should still get the idea. be right back. dont go nowhere haha

ok so it was that hose leaking, all fixed up now ! only thing is since i fixed it the car is starting to run rich again so now i have to go back and forth trying to dial it in haha i really need to invest in dsmlink so i can stop with the headaches
