Just got a couple extra connectors. Cant remember where they go.

1 is near the alternator. Single tip connector.

1 is back behind the Intake Mani. Near the knock sensor. Light green wire w/ yellow stripe. Dark green wire. Was taped up inside the harness by Previous owner it looks like.

Also the vacuum niple on the intake mani near the coil packs. That goes to the FPR Correct?

The one in the bottom picture goes on the nipple of the power steering pump. Just slides on there. Pretty simple.

Yeah I was thinking power steering, just cant find the nipple. WTF thanks though.

Anyone know what this sensor is called?

Thats what I thought as well but there are several sensors on the t-stat housing.

here is a pic of the coolant temp sensor :

I am pretty sure that is a coolant temp sensor as well. I have seen them with the bare spades like Tanro has in the picture because my 6 bolt has that. I have also seen some 7 bolt motors with the nice connector like you have on yours. I am not sure if it was model thing, year thing or what but I have seen 1Gs with both types.

I called my Local Oreillys and tracked it down. The one in question is the temp sensor for the ECU. One of the others is the temp sender for the indash gauge. The third has something to do with AC.

This one is the air conditioning engine coolant temperature switch.

And it is possible the nipple on the power steering pump broke off, which is why you cant find it.

This is the engine coolant temperature sensor for engine control.

There is also a thermosensor on the radiator by the lower radiator hose and a single prong sensor on the thermostat housing that is the engine coolant temperature gauge unit, as you mentioned.

The first one mounts to the PS unit. It is a pressure sensor type device that tells the ecu when the power steering unit is being used so it can raise the engine rpm's a little - fighting the extra load the PS belt places on the engine when used. I think that wire is grounded when pressure builds in the PS unit.

The second one that was taped up, may be for the AC compressor (if the comp. has been removed from the vehicle).

Dang it! These are my favorite threads and I'm getting in it late in the game.

19Eclipse90 has it correct, the rest of you are wrong. The "one in question" is the A/C thermoswitch. It's only job is to turn off the A/C if the engine starts to overheat while the A/C is running. That is it. If you do not have A/C you can remove that actual sensor and replace it with a 3/8" pipe plug if you want, or just leave it.

The coolant temperature sensor and coolant gauge sensors are side by side on the lower portion of the thermostat housing. The coolant temperature sensor is the larger one and has 2 wires going to it (One is green with a black strip and the other is yellow with a green stripe). The coolant gauge sensor is smaller and has a single wire going to it (also yellow with a green stripe).

The plug in the first picture is indeed for California emissions.

Yes. This is also a good place to tap for a boost source.

Hope this helps!
