Hello all I am in the process looking to replace the turbo on my car and I have two option a BB GT35R with .70 T3 turbine or BB GT3582R with a T3 .82 turbine housing. Which should I go with and what is the power difference between the two units also the gt3582R is a $400 dollar difference higher cost. My old set up is on a built motor 9.0.1 compression HKS 272 1mm oversize valve and ported head and Standalone ECU and the Mitsubishi TDO7 which made low 500whp on E85. Thanks for all the input.

Well what are your power goals first of all. No use in having that big of a hotside for something you're only looking to make 500hp out of.

Garrett GT3582R (GT35R) Turbocharger 640hp - Modern Automotive Performance

Look at the link above. The GT3582R and GT35R are the exact same turbo. The "GT35R" name is just a shortened version. Also, there is no such thing as a .70 T3 exhaust housing on this turbo. Look at the link and see the name of the turbo, and you will see both names in the title. Also look at the turbine housing options and you will see that there is no option for a .70 turbine housing. The .70 reference is talking about the compressor housing A/R...which all GT35R turbos have. Now if you're talking about the difference between a GT35R and an HTA3582, then there is a big difference...but no difference in the names you have mentioned. You just need to find out what exhaust housing is on the one you mentioned as .70 and go from there. If these are both new turbos, I say go with the cheaper one all day. Otherwise, decide which one is more worth the money and suited to your goals.

A 35R is a 35R concerning wheel specs. It should always have a 61/82mm compressor along with the 35R turbine wheel. That being said, buy the cheaper turbo...you can always buy a new .82 housing later for far less than $400.

I am looking to make over 425-450whp pump gas and 600whp plus on E85 as a street car. Which housing is best for a street car T3 or T4 and what AR is recommended?

Thanks guys for all the input if you had your choice of using GT35R BB or 6262 Journal bearing I dont trust the creamic BB which will be a better choice for my goal.

What is the spool and power difference between GT35r bb with 63ar T3 or 82ar T3

The 3582 is what is used on Andrew Brilliant's (well, was, has changed or will be changing) to the tune of 687whp and 660ft.lbs. with a huge power band on E85. It'll be my turbo of choice when I upgrade.
