I have a 99 gsx with a big 16g, tubular manifold and 02 housing, 3" turbo back no cat, bc 272 cams, pr front mount and short route kit, fuel pump, 550 injectors, ecu flash, k&n, wide band, egt, boost gauges, greddy bov, apex ebc, pr radiator, slim cooling fans, and adjustable frp. I'm trying to decide what the next best upgrade will be. It's not a daily driver and I will be driving normal and street/drag racing at times.

Bigger injectors.550's are kinda small if you want to make more power.

Are you still on the 2g maf?

A nice set of coilovers and springs will help.I don't see any in your profile.

What are the goals for the car? That's something to ask yourself and will help us determine the next step. Something I'd definitely suggest is DSMlink.

Getting bigger injectors and going e85 might be a good idea to get the rest out of your 16g or go with a bigger turbo. It really depends on you goals for what turbo you pick.

In you mods list it also says you have a 190 fuel pump, getting a 255 would be good.

In my opinion everything gets alot more exspensive and breakable past the 16g point on a stock motor.I would try to get 750cc injectors and push 20psi or see if you can max out that 16g.Anything after that is more expensive, but you should be able to get you to the 300whp with your setup now.Reliable and race proven to be decent if you drag racing.

I'm still on the 2g maf. I have a maft and don't like it because of the weather change crap. I'm thinking about going speed density. I can with my ecu flash. Think I need more fuel cause I'm leaning out on top end so I've been thinking bigger injectors. My goals are to have a quick street car would like to run 11's. E85 is not available in my location at this time.

How much boost are you on? I would get bigger injectors, at least some 950-1000cc. I would also think about a water/methanol kit if e85 is not available in your area. There has been a lot of ppl that have ran 11's on a 16g as well. Coilovers are a great upgrade as well.

You could also get c16 which is what my car is tuned on, usually a littler cheaper and easier to find, at least in North Carolina.

ok i found that Delphi Ball & Seat Injector 550cc-850cc are $269 and 950cc-1000cc are $279 which should i get? im thinking the 1000cc so i can upgrade in the future without having to upgrade injectors again. What boost should i run? I've been told 18-19 on pump gas is max.

I have 1000cc injectors with my e3 16g running 25psi spike then falling down to 22psi on 93 oct. I'd say go with 1000's then you're ready for a bigger turbo fuel wise, or you can run e85 if you have access to it.

I am in the same boat less the cams. For me next woudl be suspension in terms of hp you should get bigger injectors for sure buit you didnt mention a clutch. ACT 2600 and flywheel would be a good investment

No need to upgrade MAF yet. People usually say just get the GM w/ MAFT. Don't. The stock 2G MAF has successfully supported over 400hp.

Focus on fuel, turbo, and possibly upgrade your ignition system.

Stock dsm ignition system is good for like 500hp atleast it's doing fine on my other 540whp talon.

Im still on stock ignition and I made 561 so it does hold its own.

OP-I would hold off on the ignition and upgrade your fuel system and tuning.

True that, hopefuly I can make it to 600+whp and not have it break up and have to spend extra money on coil on plugs. Back to the post just work on maintanance, and supporting fuel upgrades, and should be able to max that setup.I am sure with some 50/50 race gas and pump you can make some good numbers withouth having to spend alot more money on a bigger turbo setup the 16g's are amazing I love em.

That's why I said "possibly." i.e. If his wires are stock and starting to show wear, etc..

OP, I'd upgrade the fuel system, and get a good suspension setup. If you're tuning with 91 gas then you'll want a water/meth setup to push the boost/timing without running into detonation. If you run pre-turbo injection, you can effectively push the 16g even more.

I've got new ngk colder plugs and wires and I run 93 fuel only. How much boost is safe for 93 on a good tune and what afr do you run? I was told 18-19 psi and 12- 11.5 afr.

Thanks glad sameone agrees with me. I love my ecu flash. It's simple and reliable. I like the check engine light coming on if its spark knocking. It huas a lot of nice features.
