So today I am headed to pick up an Eclipse Spyder with full engine, trans. and suspension for $600. It is going to be a parts car for my Colt's 4g63t swap. The car ran but the owner says the coil packs are blown. He says he believes the ECU is what did it.
For the 4g63 swap I need the engine harness and ECU however. So I would like some input on what to look for to give me hints as to why the coils would blow. I don't want a car with half use full parts. I know the wiring to the coils has been redone. I believe the owner was trying to fix it and failed.
Also; is it possible the way he went about repairing it could have harmed the ECU? This is assuming the ECU wasn't the problem from the get-go.
My only other plans are to do a compression check on the engine.
Thanks!
Wow 'Tuners; you are lacking lately..
