Where does this large black wire with yellow stripe connect on the block/head/trans. I can't remember where this went but it is a large ground wire.

I imagine that any ol' place will do, but use a multimeter to test which contact will give you the best ground connection.

I believe this came from the battery to ground the engine block. Just wondering where on the block it was meant to go. Your probably right, i'm sure it can go anywhere, but i figured someone knew the exact location.

Got any pics of this? I don't see any ground wires that may go to the intake.

look put your hand down there and search

Ok, look dude, i had the engine out of the car for a couple months and redone some wiring. I don't have that braided strap which is why i want a picture of it to see what i need to get. I don't know if your trying to be helpful or a smart ass, if your not trying to be helpful please don't post.

It goes from the battery to the transmission to engine mounting bolts. I'll see if I can find a picture for you. I can't just snap one of my car because my scatter shield covers it up.

Then there is another one that goes from the battery to the chassis.

*EDIT - You can see where the ground strap goes up under the shield in this picture:

My bad dude didnt realize the motor was out of the car

it goes to the upper starter bolt

+1 thats what I origanaly thought but then I read that other thread

Thanks guys I'll put the big one on the upper starter bolt. I'll add a ground wire to the intake as well. Anyone got a picture of the wires the come from the battery to the chassis, as i think i may have done away with it. My battery was in the trunk when i bought the car and i've tried to clean alot of the wiring up when i relocated the fuse panel to the trunk, so i have alot of changed things that's why i have so many questions. There were 4 or 5 black wires coming from the harness that lead to 2 ring terminals that i thought were a ground for the electrical system that may have went to the firewall, i grounded them elsewhere, but that may be what came from the battery to the chassis. these black wires came from the harness that runs on the firewall that has the wiper motor plug on it if that helps. I have a distribution block that i can easily attach grounds to all required points, just need to know where there needs to be grounds attached.

FWIW: We now drill and tap a hole in the sheilds for the ground wire. We must have made yours before that improvement was added to the design. Thank you for running a Three Speed shield.
