2G Grinding noise while shifting

Haven’t looked into it yet just want to know what to prepare for. Whenever im shifting into 2nd gear I hear a grinding noise. It’s not every time but definitely more than not.

Haven’t experienced it on my dsms but had a wrx that grinded into 2nd so I started double clutching and never had the problem again just my 02 cents I’d look at the cables and slave to make sure it’s all good tho

My first thought was the synchro. If it were some other issue you'd likely experience this with more than one gear selection.

We assume you're referring to a Mitsu 4g model. If it's a 420a, the 1st and 2nd gear share a synchronizer so it would grind shifting between them in either order.
