Kind of an odd noob question but i searched and couldnt find anything on it? I was wondering if our cars had governors on them? Just a random question. Thanks for the help. :dsm:

I highly doubt that they would be lying all im saying is without proof, soild proof, like a speed gun report or a mph reading on a track, something that can prove to me without a doubt that it is truely the honest speed. As far as i know your mom could have a pinto and i got up to 250mph in my stock gs. Without proof its all just talk.

top end speed stories are like fish tales. Every time you tell the story it gets a little bit bigger. It's all good. We've all done it. I'll tell you right now that the fastest I've ever gone in mine was 137. And guess what? I got proof. It's called a time slip. You see, you get them at this place called a "dragway". I will admit, I was young and stupid once just like all of us. I raced on the road. Then one day I was showing off for a car load of chicks and plowed this guy sitting at a red light while I was doing 80. He was in a farm jeep. I hit him so hard that the word "michelin" was literally stamped into the folded metal that was now my hood. I can understand wanting to KNOW...but just keep it on the track. I speed on the interstate to this day, but if you cross that magic three digit number on a public road then you are an idiot. I got four children now, and I drive a minivan 5 days a week, until the weekend when I get to pull out my toy. Friday night and Saturday night is Test and Tune night at Farmington Dragway here. $20, run it all night, get printed timeslips, etc. It's actually a lot more fun than street racing. Sometimes the local law enforcement will bring out the cruisers and race us on the track. Keeps things a little more friendly. A great man once said "Don't tase me bro!"
