Gotta learn tuning/loggers,palms???

I am moddig the car and need to learn to tune it. It is foreign to me. What do I need to buy to obtain thre info I need:timing, knock count, etc. I heard thse are common on eBay. Exactly what are they called and I do not have a PC to use is this OK? Thanks, Mark
PS: I am going to a GM MAF & Translator with 550cc inj's. I do have a wideband. mark

you can use pocketloger (www.pocketlogger.com) with a pda.
