Got my TSi Running, a few more problems

93 TSi AWD 5spd. Car starts. Idles at about 500RPM's and bogs togh when I give it throttle. The FPR hoses were off, so I got those kind of hooked up the best I know how, anybody know EXACTLY where they go? When I turn the headlights on the idle drops a little bit as well. Its running VERY rich, or is it lean? Either way after just a quick 10 mins idling the maifold and the hot side of the turbo were red. Also how do I adjust the TPS?

need to get a logger to find out whether your running rich or lean thats the only way to tell.. and when you turn on the headlights and the rpm drop it could be your alternator not being able to power enough voltage for everything..

adjust the biss screw so your not ideling so low for now its hard on the engine

OP has a 1G...is it the same TPS?

I fiddled with the BISS but to no avail......

it sounds like your running lean since your hotside is glowing red which obviously means the exhaust gas temperature is hot.
i cant really tell if you have some kind of a tuning device. if you have a safc by any chance, try to richen out the fuel trims

oh, crap didnt realize kept thinking about 2g's at the time... anyway RRE's webpage has a write up on how to adjust the TPS check that out guy!

You can't just "fiddle" with the BISS. You have to ground the diagnostic port so the ECU doesn't compensate for your fiddling. It will just keep correcting your "correction" with no apparent change until the ICS hits the end of it's adjustment range.

I have tuner/logger/scantool..... I'm going to eff with it some more tomorrow and If I can't get it any better it can sit until I'm not so broke. This car has eaten me alive....

Also It might be of help to say this is a 6bolt engine.

6bolt/4bolt combo actually.......
