Ok so I finally got my gst running after i installed a push button start to bypass switches but it has a few problems. It idles at 2-3k and sounds like there is a boost leak behind the engine. It needs an o2 sensor I know for a fact. Also has egr completely removed correctly. Just wondering what the parts may be I need.

Well it could be a lot of different things. Since it sounds like a massive boost leak, I would do the obvious first which is blt and find where it is exactly. Idle problems are usually contributed to boost leaks 95% of the time when I get idle problem.

Yea I just took a quick test drive in it, and it built boost wicked quick just loud air sound at idle ill take a video of it when phone gets charged up. It also sounds like its backfireing a little bit at idle but is gone when you drive it. I havnt went WOT in it, also it has a breather filter but not sure if that would cause that sound. And when its at 10psi the im guessing wastegate is open cause its a loud roar from the exhaust (has no muffler and gutted cat). Oh and once when i hit gas and built boost to about 8psi car stuttered for a split second then shot off again. Im guessing fuel cut? Other than the idle it runs great while driving.

I don't think you will bit fuel cut at 8psi, but I could be wrong. Do a blt and see what you can see. Also you could let it idle and spray some starter fluid or brake cleaner around the intake manifold and see if the idle changes, if it does you have a leak around it. I would check the intake manifold and throttle body first. If that doesn't help do the blt and see what you find, if that doesn't work time to break out the mullet meter and get tosensor testing.

Yea will do a BLT probly tomorrow evening, and the intake mani leak test. It could be poping because it has one o2 sensor that's down stream, over all im still happy with the car. Also I have a Oil pressure gauge, and water temp gauge that arnt showing readings do you know of a site that shows steps to install it right? The volt gauge is working perfect as is the boost gauge.

I'm pretty sure vfaq has a guide, since it has one for about everything. For the oil psi I personally just put the sending unit or hose connector, depending on if it is a mechanical or eclectic, in the oil filter housing the run the hose or wire through the firewall. I'm pretty sure most electric oil psi gauges use the green wire as a signal wire on the gauge but don't quote me on that LOL. As for the temp gauge if I remember correctly you can just put the sending uni in the thermostat housing and run the wire to the gauge. Hope this helps, but like I said vfaq.com will be your best friend next to this site.

Yea ill check them out, they are hooked up right, just for some reason no reading, but the stock gauges work so its all good for now. And an update the sound of air leaking goes away under load while driving but comes back after load is off so its a vaccume leak im guessing. There is a small boost leak on the injectors 1-3 but very very small, builds 10psi before 3k rpm, idle is still high at about 2k-3k and im thinking the o2 sensor may be affecting that some. I am going to pick up a new one next week I hope. Ill keep it updated when I find more problem or solve more problems.

Oh and could the pcv be bad also causing this problem?

Honestly the injector seals might be the biggest problem, they will cause weird problems. I say get some new injector o rings and put them on they are cheap anyway LOL.

Yea LOL I am going to pick some up soon I am completely dry on funds at the moment. I may just order some new injectors from precision or fic depending on what I read on who's best. I am going to eventually build it up to be a street rocket after small things like these are solved.

Ok so I narrowed down the leak to between #1 and #2 injectors or the PCV, and now my water pump is grinding so that needs to be replaced and I need a muffler then horn, and ill be street legal and boostin up like crazy :)

Sounds great! I just got done with getting all my maintenance up to date and the car is running great! It is a fun car once everything is fixed. Keep your head up man! :thumb:
