Got engine pulled... Few questions about 'aftermarket' stuff.

91 NT Talon 2.0L FWD..

Got the engine pulled lastnight, mainly to do a BS Elimination, etc while the head and intake are getting redone.

The car has a complete set of unorthodox racing pullies on it. ;-)

Problem is, if you remember about a month back, my Alt / Waterpump belt broke, and the culprit was decided to be the Alt pully.

Just so happens, it's an unorthodox racing pully as well. So.. I go to their site.. Yep.. They have it.. ($74.00)

Now, for the questions.

1: Is unorthodox racing any good? If you judge by price, they are a bit in the middle.

2: Once i actually get 'INTO' the engine, is there any way to tell if the Rods and pistons are aftermarket or stock? Some kind of identification marks, etc?

yes


if you need a new alternator pully I'd get a factory one though, no reason to add additional underdrive to the alternator, and no reason to worry about the wieght of that little pulley

I'm only running an unorthodox crank, none of the rest of them myself
