OK so here's the deal:

X-mas time is here and i got $500 from my dad, so, as you all know and would probably do the same, it's gotta go into the car :D.

Im thinkin about getting an safc and a turbo timer, my current mods are this(this is a complete list, dont assume i have anything else):

evo 16g, FIPK, joe p mbc, apexi n1 catback, b&m short shifter, ACT 2100 w/ lightened flywheel, walbro 255, slotted rotors w/ metalmaster pads, 18" motegi ff7 wheels, and a BOV which came off an Evo, but im getting this weird "choking" feeling when i release the gas @ wot, which i think is the BOV but im not sure, it also feels like im not getting as much boost as i should be. It didn't used to do it, but it popped out of its socket a few times under 15 psi, so i cranked the screw thing around it down pretty hard, afraid i might've damaged it. <shrug>

I think right now, what i need most is the safc and the turbo timer, 'cause i wanna be able to actually TUNE my car a bit, cause right now i dont see any real point in getting the injectors if i can't tune them. y'know? As for the turbo timer, im paranoid about protecting my new evo16g and im tired of sitting in my car waiting for it to cool. As for the BOV, if any of you guys can enlighten me on whats goin on w/ that it'd be great, otherwise i think im just gonna find myself a 1g BOV.

I still haven't done the downpipe and highflow cat, 'cause i dont htink that im flowing enough air right now to really NEED them.

And im holding off on suspension system 'cause i intend on getting the tein flex package in a couple months.

I kinda got my mind made up on the safc and the turbo timer, just looking to see what y'alls opinions on it are.

that and the BOV thing. that bugs me. <growl> (can't really whine too much though, the evo BOV was free :D)

I would get: downpipe (punishment racing) $99 I have this and its great
safc (used) $200
Test pipe $10
Injectors- i would spend the rest on them you'll might need a few more bucks, without them you'll have to leave your safc settings at zero so without them you really won't need a safc yet

heres what id get:

go fast parts:

-downpipe with no cat or hi flow cat because you ARE flowing enough air to need them ;)
-Upper intercooler pipe if you havent done so and a 1g bov will work jus fine if u decide to replace ur current evo bov.

tuning parts:

-datalogger (because ur afc is almost useless without it)
-afc

ps: u should invest in some 550cc injectors soon if u want to take full advantage of ur 16g.
of course 500 will not get u all of the above but u can choose which ones u want....id personnaly do the downpipe and upper pipe cause the restrictive stock 2g pipe robs u of ALOT of hp and that 16g needs to BREATHE :thumb:

You should try to line up an EPROM ecu and chip a little extra $ in and buy dsmlink. It would be the best mod you can do. :thumb:

You can ALWAYS benefit from an upgraded exhasut even if you're bone stock...

Hmm let me think, 5 benjamins... what to do... what to do...

Actually you know what, seriously I'd go with V8killer advice, and for your shopping needs ebay has alot of goodies... but you can always support our sponsors.

Or paypal em' to me... I'll take care of them with ease. :thumb:

ok so y'all think the downpipe + cat are the best thing to do?
i suppose you're right about the safc and not even really being able to use it., and y'know i do intend on doing dsmlink at somepoint, so i might as well hold off and just do DSMlink + injectors all in one big pop.

unfortunately, i gotta run a highflow cat 'cause im in cali (wweeaakk) and im gonna need to make emissions soon. as for test pipe vs high flow cat, is there a big difference? and another thing im not sure about, will my upper intercooler piping change when i move to a FMIC ? thats somthing i've never quite been sure of..

SO you guys have persuaded me against the safc.. however.. Turbo timer? eh ? please ? it looks like such a good investment and i want my expensive, wonderful, beautiful, shiney new turbo to live a long and happy life :D

Um...do you have any gauges? You said don't assume, but i'm hoping you just didn't list them.

I would get:

downpipe
high flow cat
upper intercooler pipe
lower intercooler pipe
turbo timer

Should be able to get all that for less than $500 if you look hard enough.

Some FMIC kits keep the stock piping, some don't. Unless you're going to be getting an FMIC soon i would go ahead and get new pipes to th SMIC

do that. dont worry about a turbo timer when you need to get the core tunning tools 1st. you can let your car idle for a bit after hard runs for free. ;)

downpipe, bov, and afc. Look for evo injectors they are cheap and 560cc's. Remember you can always sell an afc and its cheaper then rebuilding an engine!

Ebay it!!!!!
