I tried searching and the only question I found similiar to this was with a 420A. I don't want it to be too stockish, cause my hp goal is 350, but I don't want it to be too grippy either. I heard a lot of good from the xtd stage 4 clutch, but heard it's not too great for a daily driver. I was looking at the fidanza 3.2, but seems they have some problems with them. So does anyone have any suggestions?

Personally I'd go with the xtd stage 4 unsprung. I'll never use a sprung disc again, they all have the possibility to have a spring come out (which I have had happen from multiple different companies). So far I haven't had any issues with the xtd stage 4 that I've been running (other than needing an extended slave cyl rod due to needing the extra length to competely disengauge the disc) and has held up great to heavy abuse. Yes some will argue its harsher on the drivetrain but most of the posts I read on the stage 4 have all been good. Plus its cheap compared to the "name brand" kits, and still good quality. Take it at face value, some people are gonna say name brand only, others will tell you of "off brand" success. Just with buying anything it might last 1 mile it might last 200,000 miles, no one has a crystal ball to tell you.

I heard some bad on ACT too, but then again I'm sure there you can hear bad from any clutch out there. Only thing with ACT is the price, but if it is really worth, I'll consider it.

I say get something that is a sure shot and proven instead of gambling with something that has a lot of mixed reviews. You'll never know which side of that review you'll fall into. Save the time and possibly wasted money.

I agree it's a great clutch, a lot of good reviews, just the only thing holding me back is that I hear it's a little aggressive for DD.

Check out spec clutches, I have the Spec stage 3+ and love it. Great peddle and holds strong on the top end. There kits come with everything you need even a flywheel it's a modular kit, and you can upgrade to lightweight one for about $100 more. I dd my car and track it once a month. Clutch setup is good for 500 ft/lb of torque and has a like stock peddle.

Does the OP really want the harshness of a puck on a DD? I swear by the act2600 w/ sb tz disk. Perfect for DD with trips to the track due to being full faced+Kevlar. If you search there's no complaints for this combo or disk.

I daily drive my awd and it never gives me a problem, heck the engagement is better with the xtd stage 4 unsprung than my old sprung act 2600. As long as it properly adjusted it shouldn't be an issue.

Anyone else daily driving the xtd stage 4? And the act/sb combo is weighing in now too

I've had the xtd stage 4 and currently run the act&sb combo. I'm much happier with engagement and drivability of the act/sb. It will also hold more power and for longer than the xtd units.

This is pretty much going to come down to how much you want to spend. I buy the xtd's because they're cheap and work great, some people prefer name brand and have the extra $$$ to throw around. I'd say buy what will help you sleep at night knowing you put in what you really want.

I totally agree with heartless because at the end of the day it's your car. We're giving you options and our experiences with them.

And thank you, that's all I wanted since I'm pretty new to this all. Right now, I'm leaning more towards the act/sb combo due to better driveability.

So what exactly is this combo, just the ACT 2600 pressure plate with the rest of the southbend kit?

Which one did you go with?

This one: South Bend Clutch Heavy Duty TZ-Series Kevlar

Clutch Disk ONLY for the 1G and 2G AWD DSM:

Or this one: TZ/FE-Series Full-Face Kevlar/Feramic Sprung Clutch Disk ONLY
