WEll everyone...i've come down to my final decision......1g motor swap into a 2g GSX, Forrester racing head w/1mm oversized ferrea valves, springs, (full head work), 2.3L Stroker kit, GT35R Ball Bearing Turbo, AEM EMS, Driveshaftshop.com front and rear axles, AMS 780cc injectors, Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump, AMS 3" Turbo-back exhaust w/Thermal cat-back, etc etc etc...all and all AMS is going to be dyno tuning my car and they said I will be getting about 500whp on high boost on 110 octane, and about 310HP on low boost93 octane chitown gas. Do you thing this is too much??? The other thinkg I am thinking about is getting an Evo 8......but I love my Eclipse so much...but an evo wold be fun too...HEEEEEEELP!!!

Kenny

Yeah but 310 wouldn't be too much for a daily driver, your not going to be driving around town on race gas are you? :p

If you have the $ for it go for it but count with around anywhere from $1k-$3k just with shit that might go wrong...

Putting down ~350 on 93 octane here@ 20psi with stock internals. You should be fine but have you thought about the Magnus intake mani instead of the forrester? It works really well and fits like a glove when you install it.

Just a thought, couldn't you lower the boost when you want it as a daily driver, then increase it when you need that power?

Thats the idea. He will prolly run 15-18psi on 92 octane and run 28-30psi on 110 octane.

i am thinking of getting a new intake manifold, why Magnus over the forrester. any info i should know about before buying

The magnus fits like a glove. The only fabrication involved really is cutting and redoing the upper "S" intercooler pipe and relocating the coil packs. There are several ideas on how to do this. Jim Edwards has an awesome writeup on the install as well.

Also look at the intake mani shootout that was done on NABR

thanks alot, also does anyone know the wireing diagram to hook up the evo 8 mass to a 1G?

The amount of power a car is making doesn't really matter in terms of drivability, unless there's only two throttle postions. Just lay off the gas. The reason why a 500whp car is shitty daily driver is that it's loud, rough, expensive, prone to breakage and all that good stuff that comes with a vehicle making serious power unless it's a very refined machine like a 911 turbo. Your setup is the best way to go, 300whp in a daily driver is very do-able as long as you perform the upkeep.

Horsepower level is not directly related to how fun a car is to drive. You can have a 400-500 whp that drives fine, and a 300 whp car that is a total chore.

It's all about how you build it.

t's cheaper for me to get the Forrseter one because i'm getting MOST of my stuff thru AMS. There giving me a big discount on some of this stuff. My other option is to get an Evo 8...or I cold get my friends Civic Si w/450whp and an 03 yamaha R6 (crotch rocket).....still havent decided yet...maybe i'll just go for the 1g in a 2g swap, and a big 16g w/all supporting mods and get a crotch rocket so I can have fun in both worlds.

I think I might have forgotten some small parts but thats about 97% of the list. On low boost the car runs at 9psi making about 260WHP on Chicago BP 93 Octane. On High Boost 110 octane Race Gas it makes 450WHP on only 20psi!!! If I get this car I'm going to get drive shafts, Sparco 5-pt. harnesses for passanger and driver. Also, I would get another Dyno Tuning from Sound Performance and raise the boost up to 25PSI and make nearly 500WHP. The car runs 12.2's on low boost and 11.6's on high boost on street tires. Also, I would buy some GS-R Wheels and put some all out slicks on the front. I think I'll have to get a roll cage too...oh well its worth it. I have pics, dyno charts, and video's of the car as well. The car itself has 200miles on new motor and less than 2000 on the chassis.

Buy the car allready built. Save yourself the headache of gathering parts and building the car. Save tons of money. Although its still a civic. :(

yea, 20 grand for that car is a STEAL! AND!!! im going to get a bar to go across the back of the seats so I can mount the video camera he's going to give me as well. Even tho its FWD...ill find some traction....OH YEA...it also has an MSD Digital 6 box for ignition and a a stage 2 revv limiter to help me launch liek a bat outta hell off the line.
