I got a 99 gst i bought it bone stock so far what ive done to it is put a full catback exhaust with 3" downpipe on it and a punishment fmic and 16g turbo (set @ 10psi)
also an air intake im currently trying to buy an apexi safc, a aem wideband, walbro 255 fuel pump and 650cc injectors.

will this meet my goal of 300whp?
and what psi can i keep my turbo at with the new fuel parts?

with a good tune and everything done whats a reasonable boost psi to set it at? ill have 650s and a 255 walbro pump and aeromotive afpr

i guess what i meant was would 650 injectors and 255 pump handle like say 18 psi

Still can't be answered.

Fuel requirements are based on the mass (amount) of air entering the engine; not the pressure. There is a big difference in airflow between a 14b at 18psi with 2 inch IC piping, and a 35r at 18psi with 3 inch piping. :)

On anything up to an evo 16g turbo, it's fairly safe to say that 650s and a rewired 255 will support 18psi on pump gas...but nothing is written in stone.

pick up evoscan, the right cable and then contact Stacy aka MY1GDSM on this site. His freelancer tuning ad is in the classifieds section :thumb:

Remote Tuning,Custom Chips & ECU Flashing - DSM Classifieds

What he said..Send your black box ecu to this guy and he will flash it for you for a fair price and then you dont have to worry about buying a tactrix cable and all that. Just plug your ecu back in when you get it from him. But you still have to install all your parts yourself. You should have downgraded to the 190 fuel pump as other were saying and you wouldn't have had to worry about installing a afpr and adjusting fuel pressure. Im running a 16g, 660's and a 190 in my 2g and didnt need an afpr. Got it tuned by MY1GDSM and saved myself the brain capacity for learning to tune dsmlink when I install that in my 1g.

Which parts do you still have to install? Post in your regional section and im sure there's a few guys in there that will give you a hand for a 30 pack or two of beer..

only problem with me tuning it myself is its my dd so if it ####s up i got nothing to take to work =/

The drive to work is good for datalogging... :D

You have a 99 so you have the flashable ECU. Get yourself a Tactrix 2.0 cable (180-200), download ECUFlash (free), buy and download EVOScan (20-25 bucks)... and you have a fully tunable setup. Oh, and a wideband. I like the LC-1 because I can just plug it into my laptop and datalog. I don't have to splice wires into the ECU harness and reconfigure the ECU to read that as a wideband... I'm not a fan of that. The Tactrix cable plugs into your OBD2 port, and the flash plug plugs in right behind the OBD2 port. Doesn't get much more plug and play than that...

Do a search on here for "ceddy" or "ceddymods" and there's a couple long threads with a ton of info. There's videos for EVO's on getting started with tuning.

Yeah, it's for an EVO but it's VERY similar to what the 98/99 people are doing with Ceddymods.

There's also this thread on here.

I want to get into doing the flashing way of tuning because i am very good with computers but iam horrible with mechanical things but at the moment im on literally the tightest budget ever like ill have 10$ for the whole month to live on LOL but hopefully in the next month or two ill get ecuflash or dsmlink.

from what ive seen so far i think dsmlink is much more user friendly and id like to have it but its quite expensive imo

I used ecuflash to tune my EVO and it was probably the easiest thing I've ever used and I had link on my 2g and now run AEM so I can compare them all. SAFC is garbage compared to ecuflash, and considering its almost the same price, its a no brainer! I'm on a budget as well, but there's some areas that u simply cannot cut corners from and tuning is the #1 area!

Yeah, DSMLink has a GREAT forum for support where as the Ceddymods has a couple threads on here people post in or start up if they get stuck. But if you're good with computers you should be good to go with the ECUFlash route. The videos and info in the links I posted have helped me out. Spend the couple months keeping your car stock and learning about tuning while you save up. But if you are overwhelmed with tuning still, you should be able to take your car to any shop that tunes EVOs. Just ask them if they have a Tactrix 2.0 cable. They'll stick their wideband in your exhaust, datalog your car with EVOScan, then tweak the maps on the modified Ceddy rom file. The Ceddymods (DSM) are very similar to the Tephramods (EVO) when it comes to tuning.

to late on keeping the car stock LOL :p ive had the 16g in for a few weeks now and my old stock turbo burned oil like a mother f**ker

If all you plan to run is 650's, I'd go with a 190 or an EVO9 or EVO8 pump. The EVO9 is a tad bit better but either should be fine for a 16g to about 22-24psi. You don't need a 255 for 650 injectors and if money is tight, it'll save you from needing a fuel pressure regulator. I think I paid 40 bucks shipped for my used EVO9 pump off of the EVO forum and I can use my stock regulator. They flow about 205.

i already paid for the afpr so yea might aswell get the 255 and id like to maybe even go bigger down the road

Hey ed can you show me where i can get injectors for 150 sounds like a great way for me to balance my budget better
