I got a 99 gst i bought it bone stock so far what ive done to it is put a full catback exhaust with 3" downpipe on it and a punishment fmic and 16g turbo (set @ 10psi)
also an air intake im currently trying to buy an apexi safc, a aem wideband, walbro 255 fuel pump and 650cc injectors.

will this meet my goal of 300whp?
and what psi can i keep my turbo at with the new fuel parts?

Ditch the safc and get DSMLink or one of the free programs with the data cable. The 16g is more than capable to get you to 300hp (with more boost of course)

i have no idea how that works and i dont know if the guy doing the tuning for me does either how hard is it to use and whats required

Ditch the AEM WB if you use EMClink (I was told they dont play well together) I got MXT-L by innovative Im very happy with it LOL

If I were you id by ECMlink and tech yourself the invaluable skills of tunning your own car. There is TONS of support, videos and advice for you to rely on, not to mention you will save TONS of money GOOD LUCK :)

+1

SAFC is an awesome tool, but you will be really hard pressed to find reasons not use ECMLink. For that amount of power you can put at least a "good" tune on it with just a little research. Once you get Link you get access to invaluable information on ECMTuning, Inc.

As for your other mods, you may want to look into an AFPR for your fuel setup. Other than that you are good to go!

PM me if you are interested in a set of PTE 680cc injectors.

only problem with me tuning it myself is its my dd so if it ####s up i got nothing to take to work =/

My AEM WB n v3 works just fine!

But you could mess something up when doing any kind of modding. And there's not much you can do in Link that will cause catastrophic damage. If it doesn't run right, put it back to how it was and start over. Use all the above mentioned support and take baby steps; adjust things slowly, one at a time, and think about what you're doing.

If I can do it, you can :thumb:

Thanks for the support guys ill look into dsm link more.
What all is required for dsmlink by the way?

Why waste money on dsmlink? You already have a flashable ecu installed. Its the same thing the evo guys use, and I see them making good numbers :)

Also I would go with an evo 8 pump or walbro 190. The 255 requires an afpr and that's unnecessary for your goals.

And if you still haven't gotten a wideband, I highly recommend the mtx-l. It has a wider range than the aem, is programmable, can datalog through the computer(not needed if you go the evoscan/dsmlink route), and sensors are cheaper to replace. They cost the same, so might as well get the better one.

egh im ####ed LOL im on a 1.2kish budget and i think its gonna cost a bit more than that
like 100ish for fuel pump
230? for 650 injectors
200 for afpr
200 for wideband (already bought wideband)
i dont think dsm link will work out on my budget LOL so ill have to go with the safc
found an safc on craigslist for 130$
all that comes to roughly 860$ and thats without shipping
i have not talked to the guy thats going to do the work for me i got a REALLY rough estimate of 350 for labor

am i missing any parts?
what can i do to make this any cheaper i never knew about the afpr untill a few mins ago its kinda a buzzkill

ed1380 beat me to it and I second his suggestion; replace that 255 pump with an Evo8 pump or Walbro 190 and you will have plenty of fuel flow for 300hp without the need for an afpr. You'll spend ~ $200 on a decent afpr with all the fittings for no good reason.

As for your question:
dsmlink looks pretty nice but does it even work for a 99s ecu?
No, you would have to sell the '99 ECU and buy a '95 ECU instead. The eprom chip is de-soldered from the board and a socket is put in it's place. ECMLink will socket your board for you although some come already socketed from sellers.

I personally have ECMLink (dsmlink is the old name, same product) and highly suggest it to anybody but if I already had a '99 which has the flashable ECU, I honestly would take a very hard look at just buying the cable and evoscan. It may not be as intuitive as ECMLink but it is very powerful and some of the local guys here ran it in their '99's and say it worked great for them. You will likely spend A LOT more time doing research but you will also save A LOT of money flashing your '99 ecu. So, if you can only afford $1.2k than I think you already know ECMLink is not one of your options anyway.
Considering you are lucky to have a '99 which already has a great tuning option for cheap, I would NOT suggest a SAFC at all. Total waste of money in your case.

Here is a very comprehensive post by dboyle23 on flashing your '99:

go evoscan. No need for link cause you have a 99. Iirc, link wont even work with the 99 black box ecu (cant be socketed)so other options are out there. Hitting 300 on a 16 has been done alot. You might as well get an afpr, youll want more pump/more power, believe me. Go with some larger injectors(if not on safc, go ahead and get 1000s or bigger, you may be cornfed one day!! LOL) while your at it. And a decent MBC of course.

The tactrix 2.0 cable will cost you 40 more dollars than the safc and allow you to tune way more things than the safc. The tuning software is free and the datalogging software is around 30 bucks. The safc is an awful tuning device that fools the ecu in order to run bigger injectors. In turn you will run into excessive timing which can lead to knock, especially with the injectors that you are wanting to run.

i decided for now im just gonna go with an safc because thats most familiar to the guy whos tuning for me and i managed to pick up an safcII from some dude on craigslist for 120$ if it dosent work im egging his house LOL

in other news i bought an aeromotive afpr

Any tuner that only knows how to tune an safc isn't a tuner at all. What does he plan to do about the extra timing advance caused by the safc.

i really dont know if it dosent work out tho isnt flashing the ecu only like 50$?
