GODSPEED 95-99 eclipse dsm gsx gst intercooler kit v2 | eBay
hope that link works.
its around 400. as far as ease of installation/performance is this a good option? i cant spend 800 for an intercooler kit, i am well aware they are of superior quality. just to get that outta the way. my max is around 450 but ive found other kits on ebay that look good for less than this. suggestions please, motor is built finally and will be in the car by next week. after break in im going to put everything in at once. exhaust, 1000cc, v3full, fp mani, evo3 ported, fmic, and anything else that needs done. just compiling my list and starting to order now. thank you all, ive learned quite a bit just trolling here but occasionally i will need to ask questions.

I can't argue for Godspeed, and I can't argue for VRSF, but I sure as hell can argue against what is inevitably going to come up on this thread, the PR kit. Avoid.

Intercooler Size 42x12x9
Intercooler inlet : 2.5"
Intercooler outlet : 2.5"
Intercooler may hold up to 800 HP

Yeah those first two links, those guys are on crack. 42*12*9 and 800 hp really? More like 32*(Maybe 12, most likely 10)*(3, because there is not a 9" thick intercooler core for our cars).

Probably will cool 500hp-600 tops efficiently.

my buddy bought a godspeed fmic kit and the pipping was horrible the welds were crap and it was super thin material

Well it only takes a second to see that it sucks, just look at its pipingWTF

If you want a cheap intercooler and want to keep your fog light then buy the PR if you dont care for fog lights then get the VRSF or ebay one. The added price of the VRSF means it will fit better, has all the hoses and clamps, and you can choose your bov option.

damn forgot abour vrsf kit, i have looked at that before. guess i didnt bookmark it. i like that one better but would like to keep foglights, not mandatory, but would be nice. does the vr kit accomodate fog lights? thanks

Well, I have a 1g PR kit, but what goes for the goose goes for the gander, IMO. PR=Ebay company that will answer emails but still doesn't give a crap, unless you get a manifold or O2 housing.
Better make sure your BOV flange is in the right spot, Buy all new tbolt clamps, and don't have any issues that require manufacturer support, and you might do all right with the PR kit.
The only thing I'm not regretting about buying my pr kit instead of the vrsf kit, is when I switch over to a short route ets core, the PR piping will fit fine with the ets core, not so with the VRSF kit.

I feel pretty much the same way that you do, keep your smic for a bit. I wish I had just saved my money for an ETS core. I know people who have rocked a 50-trim making almost 400whp on the stock smic. I'm not saying its the best way to go, but since the PR and VRSF kits are only really decent with pump gas to 400 hp or so, they are really kind of a pointless option. I'd rather go water meth and smic at this point, that way when I go ETS i still have the water meth. Instead now I'm going to have to ditch my PR core, and I'll lose money on it when I switch to ETS. Yes you can run the PR core to higher hp numbers than 400, but at that point you are losing performance by running it instead of something that does its job better.

Both the PR and VRSF cores are much bigger. (28x8x3.5 I believe vs 20x9.2.5 for the obx kit). Unless this kit installs itself I'd still rather go with a crap fitting PR kit, or the VRSF kit with which I have no experience, than that OBX kit. OBX doesn't have the best reputation as far as quality is concerned.
That OBX core looks like absolute garbage....did they forgot half of the cooling fins when they were manufacturing it?

I'll tell you point blank, unlike others here. Cheap generic FMIC kits are a waste of money. Save your money and get a proven good kit. Or waste it on "eh" crap, and eventually (like me) do it again spending even more, but hey it's your money your choice.

(Just wish someone had put it to me like that years ago)

ive learned as such reading on here. the ebay 16gs were tempting but after reading, no ###in way. im going with fp evo16 and high quality parts. the internals are built to withsatand as much as i plan on throwing at it, i dont want to cheap out but on the other hand with a fmic, i dont want to spend 800 on something ill never truly utilize. 400hp is my goal and the vr kit seems like it will accomodate that with few problems if any. i plan to order tomorrow.
