I have a 98' talon 420a with a manual. I'm replacing the tranny fluid, and im not sure how much of the synchromesh I should add. Any help would be great.

bg thats what i used on my last eclipse

I used BG Syncroshift II for several years and loved it. Just switched to Royal Purple Max Gear synthetic trans fluid. I have never used synchromesh but I have read a lot of mixed reviews.
As far as the amount, its like 2 or 3 quarts. I know on the 4g63 manual transmission you just fill it 'til it overflows.
Idont believe you are supposed to fill the whole tranny case with synchromesh. 75w-90 gear oil is what is supposed to be used. The synchromesh is less viscous.

ATF has less lubricity than Synchromesh; I'd use the NVT350 lube (if you can find it) as my first choice, Synchromesh as my second.Wrong. You are supposed to use ATF +4 Full Synthetic or the factory NV-T350 lube. 2.1 quarters total.
BG Synchromesh II and GM Synchromesh not recommended by TRE anymore when I talked to Jon, not sure what his website says these days. After a couple quick tranny failures, I've switched to Amsoil Synthetic Transmission Fluid. Hopefully that and the shotpeening will help things out. Shifting is nice, a touch notchy at times but I like it that way.
