gm maf in a 1g turbo fwd

hello I have a 92 plymouth laser fwd 2.0 turbo 5spd and I have heard that you can install an gtm maf in place of the ist gen maf to help with fuel cut out is that true and if so how thank you

Its not true, belive me, I had a 3"gm maf and translator v2.01 and it made it worse actually because there's so much air and not enough fuel...What I had to do is buy 550's and 190lph fuel pump. I tried different things to keep the car from running lean but it kept happening....Did you try the 1g mas mod? its a little round hole filled with silicone...poke at it til you get to the flathead screw, back it out until the bottom of the screw doesnt stick out thru the bottom. this will allow more air thru that airway passage...It worked for me well. I also removed all the honeycombs even tho people said its bad...I actually made me go from 13.5 quarters to 13.3. if you cmpress all the honeycombs off a 1g mas, you get an area of like 3/4" by 3/4", thats alot of airflow restriction, if you dont believe me, get a 3/4" boxed wrench and blow thru it, you'll see its alot. For what the cost it, its not that great...I moved to a 2g mas with 550's and I didnt have to tune my car at all...
