What will it take in a complete rebuild of a 1g turbo engine? A shop near me has one that is jsut collecting dust. What needs to be done to this engine to bring in 10 sec on a fwd? Anything suspension wise that would be good to look into? Am i asking too much for 10sec???? Nitrous needed? Can it still be driven on the road? Slicks? Thanks
-Ben :laser:

First of all 10's is a big feat in an awd let alone fwd. You would be better off setting you goals a little lower and then going from there.

if you dont know the answers to those questions, DONT EVEN THINK about 10's. Shoot for high 13's.

Lots of money, time, and research

Shouldn't this thread be in the General/Newbie forum?

Two ways:

Take your time and learn about everything and progress from 13s to 10s

OR

Throw parts on it until the car has no choice but to run 10s.

^^ ^^

Did you just ask if you would need slicks for a 10 second FWD?

FYI, I'm about to bolt 4 slicks onto my AWD, and hopefully pull off a low 10 :)

I better belive you would need slicks on a FWD to plung into the 10's! I don't think a 10 sec FWD would be much fun to drive on the streets, especilly in the rain  .

Cool air intake, T3 turbo, direct port nitrous injection, standalone fuel manament system. This setup is around $10,000, but will easily put you in the 10's. Also consider a V-tech head swap.

Don't you mean higher? :D

I agree lots of stickers ohh ohh and neon underglow lights and never forget the bigger the wing the better if you wanna fly. LOL jk

but for real though I agree for the others take you time aim for 13's first cuz if you dont i am willing to bet that things go wrong.

im going for mid 11's on slicks and some race gas and Im also going for 400whp... FWD look at my mod list in my profile

I agree with the stickers and under glow but to be really fast I mean to break into the low 8's with shepard u need a body kit and a 20ft tall wing
your fwd u don't even need slicks just get some 22inch wheels and that should make it go super dupper fast

GOOD LUCK :thumb:

My advice like others' is to start with a goal of maybe 13's, but also the second part of my advice is to use the search button to avoid starting threads like this one.... because it has thoroughly been covered before. I would say that the vast majority of questions relating to DSM's have been asked at one time or another so that button is like your own personal gnome who is ready to tell all.

I agree with all of the non Jokers in here. LOL the stickers are funny, but in all reality i have been trying to get an 11 sec slip for a while now. it took lots of green leafs off of the money tree :) in the process i blew my engine and two clutches, not to mention my 50 trim not once, but twice. so definatley set your goals for mid to high 13's. once you get there then its time to shoot for low 12's or high 11's. be prepared for lots of things to break. stock parts aren't ment to go 10's, and neither is a street car. so don't plan on driving it on the street(it won't be fun!). that's my two cents :thumb:

   ^^^^ Yeah dude, STICKERS easily add 10-15 HP a piece, especially the APC ones, those are like 20. HAHAHAHA

I seriously hope those are 680cc. :D
A beeter question to ask on this site would have been....How many registered users have timeslips with 10 sec on here. After you get that number it will tell you how much work it will take
