The car is ready for paint. I just have to cover the engine bay. I'm gonna start mixing the paint, and then once it's painted I'll post more pics

And here she is all shiny. I chose OEM color code 1h5 cement grey effect from Toyota. It looks like a flat color until you get really close and then you can see all the Pearl in it. Looks killer

Why did you leave the windows down? I paint with them up to keep the dust and overspray down.

Great work on that paint man! Never seen this color on a DSM but it does look quite nice, will be interesting to see with everything assembled. Are you painting the wheels in a different color as well or keeping them silver?

Also for the roof, do you think it would be worthwhile to try and hammer out/pull any dents, or just fill them in with bondo and paint over? I have a nasty dent just above the top left corner right next to the windshield and not sure how to go about it (it's also black so it's lost the clearcoat there).

But otherwise good luck with your project. Steadily and surely it'll come back to life!

Thanks man. I plan on keeping the wheels the same color. If I were you I would try to fix those dents on your roof with a dent puller first and then use bondo if u need it.

Looking for some suggestions, this is my first time doing a full body paint job(i've done hoods& trunks) both my 98 gsx and my 04 lancer are silver the paint isn't to bad but at least over 13yrs old and there's some sun burnt spot on my eclipse.... Any tips on what grade sand paper? And how many times should I go over the car before I put the clear coat on it ? It doesn't have to be immaculate i just want a fresh look for right now.... Eventually one will be black and other green..... So any tips will be appreciated
