This is a 90' tsi my gf and I just recently got on ebay. My buddy and I have been doing some minor bodywork and it's almost ready to paint. This is the first rust free DSM I've ever had. NYS roads suck  I am so excited to get it painted I had to show people who acctually care. The color will be stock black cherry on the bottom and glossy black on the top. We are getting rid of the silver bottom and adding "pancake flake" to the paint. I want it to look deep but not like a disco ball. Anyone have any ideas to spice up the stock color?

Im in the same boat as you are. I currently have my black cherry 91 Tsi prepped. The car goes for paint on Monday but Im searching for ways to make the color a bit darker. So far the only idea Ive come up with is using a tinted clear coat.

while ya got the paint in the gun ya may want to shoot the valve cover and a few other odds and in's

Lookin good John! I can't wait to see it finished. We'll have to get together this week, I'm on vacation.

We changed the black cherry by substituting a pink/red mica with a copper mica. It looks almost brown and sometimes maroon and very copper. All in all it looks great! :D

Lookin real nice. My 1990 is in the shop getting custom body work done right now. The car has been stripped down for an immaculate paint job. My moldings and factory body kit have been removed for a proper job to be done. My wrap around spoiler, antenna, and rear wiper have been shaved off, and all holes welded shut. The car will be painted all one color. I will post pics when done.
