gear ratios changed?

95-96 Talon tsi tire size is 205/55/R16. 97-98 Talon tsi tire size is 215/50 R17. The overall tire diametre for 97-98 is a half inch larger than the 205/55 R16 size. A larger tire size is like having a taller gear and I was wondering if Mitsubishi adjusted the gear ratios for the 97-98 tsi models to accommodate the larger tires?
