Im in the process of a 93 1g n/t engine swap and weve built up a 90 gst 6bolt engine thats
already been dropped in and we've just got to finish the wiring...
Well to the point, I was decieding whether to keep my n/t tranny with a stage 2 clutch in it,
or to use the gst tranny that came with the engine ( with an unknown condition )
therefore I dont know how badly the stock gst clutch that came with the engine couldve been abused in the past etc....
But at the same time I dont know how much abuse my 1g n/t tranny could take
with its stage 2 clutch in the gst motor.... Is the 1g n/t tranny any different durability wise and potiential wise than the gst tranny....? I know they sell clutches and flywheels for the two trannys seperately
and make it seem as if there not interchangleable ??? but idont see why the 4g63 n/t
tranny would suddenly fail or be weaker other than as far as the stock clutch in it being weaker...
I dont know specific gear ratios but seen the numbers before and
I know the n/ts ratios are lower and ( from ones opinion better on 1/4 miles pulls
but worse on all out highway top end power )
Can someone with a 1g gst tell me what their cars gears go to say... at 7000 rpm...
For example my n/ts gears used to be 1st gear went to a little above 35mph at 7k
2nd went to 65mph at 7k, 3rd went to a little above 95mph at 7k 4th went to 115mph at 6k
and 5th tops at 130 5.5k rpm (the fastest it would go. )
I dont know if a 2g gsts ratios are different than a 1gs
but any gsts I would like to know what speed you reach per gear at 7k rpm....
So ican decied better which tranny/ratios I want to use.... thanks.
