I have a triple a piller pod but I'm torn between putting it in or getting the center vent delete and putting my boost and wideband gauge in there. Post up a pic of your setups. Which is easier for you to see. :D

You can have gauges in the center cent and not have to sacrifice air flow. This is my set up bezel:

It have room for two gauges and still have slits for air flow. I personally dont like gauges on the A pillar. I have two in the center vent and three in my second radio slot.

I think this is the setup I want to go with. Looks real clean and simple. Is it hard to read with the angle?

Not at all, they are digital and illuminate. If you have analog gauges that dont dont illuminate then maybe, yes it might be hard to see. The 1g is already designed like a cockpit, everything is mounted toward the driver. If you really want them angled toward you this is what you want, although you might be sacrificing the vents:

I don't know how much use it is to you guys. But when I'm ripping it at the track. It's way easier to read it by the stock gauges, cluster pods. Eyes moving to look at rpm, psi and a/f ratio could be a huge task when seconds count.

I like the pillar look but where i live it attract thieves so I moved it to my cluster. PICTURE IS NOT MY CAR.

I have my boost controller and wideband in a cluster pod. I love it, low key too and when you check other gauges they are right there.

I'm going to being doing some sort of gauges along the side of the radio/ac dash hump.. but a couple will go below the radio for me.

I'd go with the pillar because that way you only turn once and you have your three gauges (thats if you have the triple pods pillar) and dont have to worry to look the other way.. wprks for me but then again its your choice.

Luckily I don't have to worry about people breaking in so I'm going with a pillar. Its much easier to glace to the left then to take your eyes off the road and look at the vents. But I don't see the need to put less important gauges that you don't need to monitor as much such as oil pressure, water temp, ect. there. those can go somewhere else IMO

I vote all 3.. Pillar Pod, Vent, and under the radio. :hellyeah:

I have a triple center vent pod. MUCH easier to read the gauges then on the A pillar. Just my 2 cents. Everyone knows 1g cars don't blow heat or A/C for crap anyway, so loosing the center vent isn't a big deal.

Here's mine. Just a fyi, the 2 on the outside don't quite fit. The back of the left gauge is hitting the side so I had to trim a bit out. The right gauge is shallow so not really a problem but still had to do a little trimming and throw a screw in there to make it solid. :thumb:

Do you have any pics of how you modded the cluster. That is how I plan on mounting my gauges. And I didn't want to do a hack job. I was hoping to find pics like that.

I would keep the ac. It gets hot no matter where you are. I currently running a 3 pod on the a pillar and a 2 pod around the gauge cluster. I love it. If you use your ac then youll have to look down more than your pillar. I would say its safer to.

I just pulled it all apart and cut the plastic till the fit in nice and tight. I dont have any more pics other than that and the restore of the car before I sold it as a sell over a year ago. With both the water and oil gauges in there I was not able to put the stock plastic cover over the gauges

I like this but this is not an option on a 1g unless its custom and I'm not skilled enough.

That's true. I'm just torn between the 2 looks.

A...C? What is this you speak of?
^ This. No ac in my car. That's what the window is used for.

Great news, it's easy! :hellyeah:

a small PVC pipe that has 2" 1/16" (52mm) or whatever size your gauge is and a bit of fiberglass cloth/some other filler and some paint and you can make it. If there is space in the corners of the cluster it would be doable.

Or if you have a donor pillar you can make one like this Interior How To: Make a Dual Gauge Cluster Bezel - Cobalt SS Network

Same idea for the PVC one just you run it all the way to the back.
