gas tank line help

on an awd gas tank going from the drivers side to the passengers is a metal line for fuel which i cracked.. on either end it connects to a rubber hose that goes into the fuel pump assembly.. so would i be able to just get a longer rubber hose and run it from each cap of the gas tank.. or are these a certain diameter to regulate how much fuel or somethin like that?.. sorry if this is confusing i dont think i phrased it very well

Why not just get a stainless steel tube to replace it? I'm not sure if these are a particular type of rubber hose since different types of polymers have different reactions to different fluids. I would get a stainless steel tube to replace it. Measure the OD of the tube using a caliper if possible, then order the right size. This will prevent rusting if the possibility is there, looks nicer and is a long term solution.

How much was broken off and which one was it for, return or feed? If it's not fixable, I would recommend either getting a hangar assembly from a junkyard car or install a bulk-head fitting and run some SS line with -AN fittings.
