gas smell when in boost

well the car is running appart from the idle surge everyting look good


i can smell gaz badly in the car

i did the evap canister delete ( hose to the canister is opend)

i have broken studs on the fuel pump housing so its not seeling properly can that do it ?


let me know the smell is terrible

I think you answered your own question. Seems like the seal on the gas tank is bad. Kinda hard to weld new studs on there eh?... . Dont try, just to clarify. I would use some real strong RTV on it so it can be removed but wont allow gas odor out. And make sure that the tank is venting properly. As in: when it sits in the sun for a long time you dont hear a big hiss when you pop the gas cap.

i cant find a proper diagram for the evap system from the gaz tank to to evap

Haha I know of some buddies who would have probably gone out and tried to weld on the gas tank.

2nd thought: You know that black stuff used to hold windshields in place? Try that. That may be what they used oem in that place anyway.

By fuel pump housing are you talking about the part that you pull up with the pump attached to it? Maybe upload a pic? Just be sure that whatever you do take the proper measure to repair it. Fuel maintenence should always be done with extra precaution.

You don't need windshield glue, rtv or to burn your car down trying to weld anything. There is a very easy fix. Drill out the old studs, put a bolt thru the back, put a little jb weld on the head of the bolt to hold it in place and bolt the sending unit back on with a new gasket.
