Doesn't go away overnight, dealership won't do the recall sooooo it looks like I will be replacing the fuel sender seal.

I already ordered a re-wire kit and an o-ring. Anything else I should check? No visible leaks, new injector seals, no exhaust leaks. Wideband is reading nominal... So I doubt a I am running any richer than I should be at cruise, and I am starting to tap out the fuel pump at WOT (Starts approaching stoic) so I will be re-wiring it at the same time I replace the seal.

I had a similar issue with gas smell, I tore the ring when installing my 190 somehow. Mitsubishi had to order it, being my dd I went to the junkyard and grabbed one off a 3g been good since.

I meant If it isn't the seal. I think it is more likely the seal, but was throwing some other options out there in case it wasn't.

Ah, I put an "If" in front of your post and it made sense then :coy:

It is another possibility but as you mentioned, it would need to be saturated and would take a lot to travel into the cabin through the vent system. Storage area would be smelling like fuel as well.

My 2g I had, did the same thing. Was really bad after filling the tank up, smelled so bad thought if I lit a smoke the car would blow up. Come to find out the sending unit seal had a nice rip in it. I replace the seal then no more gas smell

Yep, I get the gas smell worse when the tank is over half full, and its at it strongest when the car has been freshly filled.

I also don't have a charcoal canister/evap purge. The Previous Owner removed them before I purchased the vehicle and they were not included with the spare parts.
