gas guage reading wrong

i recently wrecked my 1g fwd and i think the impact knocked my gas gauge sender thingy off, i filled it up yesterday and its only reading 3/4 of a tank. i have a fuel pump i need to put in , what can i do to fix my gauge problem while im replacing my fuel pump.

Replace the fuel level sending unit, luckily your fwd so you only have one. There is actually a way to test it if you search some more and look more in depth, check how many ohms are in the wires or something like that to see if its any good, but just sounds like the sending unit is gone bad.

I was searching due to the same problem. I found this site that still has OEM parts for our Eagles. Mopar is agreat spot. Hope this helps. The guage unit is cheap too. about $50.00 I have it set for my 2G so make sure you change to a 1G year.
