g4cs w/ 1g head build question

Ok, I am putting my timing belt on and I notice that my balance shaft sprocket is smaller than my timing belt. It looks like my belt will be rubbing the oil pump. Am I supposed to use a different sprocket when doing the 2.4 stroker or is there a washer that needs to be behind the sprocket? I am using the g4cs block and 1g head. Any help will be great!!

not to get off the subject but i am getting ready to build the same motor but am fing it hard to find a 2.4 block do yoiu know where or what all they come out of?

The sprockets should be the same, or so I thought Was that your original 2.0 oil pump sprocket? Do you have the 2.4 sprocket that you can compare the two to? If I remember correctly, there shouldn't be a washer that goes behind that sprocket.

(BTW steve. the G4CS block comes out of an early Hyundai Sonata)

Hey man, just use the 2.0l oil pump sprocket. I ordered a 2.0l topline oil pump and front cover and ever thing worked fine. You can also use the 2.4l block out of early galants. I believe around the late 80's. They were 2.4l and sohc.
