Thought i would share some pictures i took today. Should have engine and trans in car tomorrow.

Beautiful, i would've painted that mother up but still nice 2.4 REPRESENT!!!


You must be talking about the valve cover. I'm not quite done with it yet, it will be powder coated.


The motor has eagle crank, eagle rods, JE pistons, kiggly girdle, comp 101200 cams, JMF race intake, S90 70mm throttle body, fully ported 1g head with larger int and exh valves, hx40 7 blade. I am wanting 600awhp. This is going in my 2g awd talon.
 
They don't make them for the 2.4, i didn't grind the arm either. Since i have a manual tensioner i didn't need to do the grinding. I have 2.0 cam gears so i had to skew the timing marks instead of being directly across from one another they are slightly off. If you look at the stock 2.4 gear the marks are like half tooth different than the 2.0 so i just set my 2.0 gears up like that. I already had the fidanza's on my 2.0 motor and didn't want to give them up as well as the kevlar timing belt.
 
Any issues with the oil pan? I swore they used to have clearance issues with internals or something like that.

Also, do you have a stock hood? I'm wondering how you're going to fit 2 AN fittings off the top of your valve cover if you do.


The oil pan had to be slightly clearanced for the rear main studs and slightly dented in the bottom for where the last rod is. I bought 2 very low profile 90 degree -10 an fittings(cost and arm and a leg), but yes i do have the stock hood.

I didn't. I know of clearance issues with ARP crank bolts

I imagine if you used arp bolts there would be no clearance issues except maybe the bottom where the #4 rod bolt just ever so slightly hits it. I had to put a smal dent there no even 1/16. Also if it wasn't the 100mm stroke crank you wouldn't have to do that.

Here is a pic only 1 1/4" from threads to the top. 1 5/8 total height, picture makes it look like 1 1/2 but is actually 1 5/8.

What a beautifull build. If you don't mind, how much do you have tied up in this build?
I can't wait to see what it looks like in the car. Looking forward to possible numbers or a time slip.
 
Got some more pictures. Engine is in the car. As to how much i have in the build, that's a good question not sure i want to know every dollar but it's around $5000 no more than $7000 and i haven't done the trans yet. :ohdamn: Pictures are of the wiring tuck plus fuse panel relocation to the trunk and abs delete. I haven't got the hood back on to see if the fittings in the valve cover are gonna clear the hood. You guys think i'll be able to pass for stock?:D
