Best way to heat up tires? Need to heat up my tires better and get better 60's.. Thanks guys..
1. Stay in 1st
2. Shift from 1st to 2nd during burnout
3. Start burnout on 2nd

I do it in 2nd with wet tires and 1st on dry tires. More wheel speed works better.

I wet tires by rolling through the water box but not letting my rear tires get wet. Start my burnout out of the water in 1st gear with my ebrake on and let it pull me a little ways but not much, then stage. Yields 1.7 60 footers on 26 x 10 mickey thompson slicks. Check out my profile which has the link to my drag run and you can see how my burnouts look.

Depends on your tires.
Race track fact. Doing a burnout on normal street tires actually makes them slicker not stickier. try doing a run without "burning out" and see what your 60ft times look like.

It looks like you are running slicks though judging by your avatar. If you are on slicks, make sure you pull through the entire box before you start the burnout. Don't sit there and spin them in the box. And, you still could try a few runs with driving around the box. I had a car that launched better on slicks without a burnout. If you are on street tires, you should always go around. The water just ends up in the treads and will work its way out during your run.

Depending on your power level either start in 2nd or 3rd gear. Start in the water towards the edge of the box. I preload the gear a tad and then yank the e-brake and build some boost off the 2 step. Drop the clutch, when you see smoke drop the e-brake and ride out of the water spinning the tires.

did you ever think of soaking your slick's with trak bite?

are you spinning bad, or just afraid of launching any harder?
What's the tire pressure like? Also what's the suspension setup like?

There are alot of other things that you can do to increase your 60ft withg your current burnout.
Remember weight transfer in a fwd is unavoidable but bad. if your serious about dragging set up the suspension to minimize the weight transfer as much as possible.

One other tip. When you get in the water, dump the clutch just to spin the tires over real quick to make sure the tires are wet all the way around. You can't drive thru the waterbox at the track I go to. You have to back into it and it's not a lot of room. I've also seen tracks that you drive thru the water but it's not a real wide track so you may not get them wet all the way around the tire. After you spin the tires over real quick to make sure they're wet, then pull just to the edge and then do your burnout as usual.
