Higher pressure = better atomization
I wonder if a DI nozzle could be used for port injection. Might just shoot it too far across the airstream due to lower density air.
Anyone have any other ideas? How hot can those nozzles get and still work? I'm thinking of an antilag setup post chamber.
 
I also just read that the new Cobalt SS (turbocharged instead of supercharged) uses direct injection also. (260hp/260tq) Wonder when Mitsu will catch on to this for the evo/eclipse.

Did you even look at Dave's car ? 40+MPG without GDI...

Yep checked it out, car also weighs roughly 2645lbs, it's fwd, and there's no telling how many of those miles are highway.

There's also a tech article from the well known pneumo, who has gotten 53mpg out of a tank. But honestly how realistic is this? The best I've ever done is 35mpg, and that was doing 55mph on the highway, with the windows up, using the pulse and glide technique (unsafe), never letting my car go above 2.2k while accelerating, and creating an unsafe driving environment for anyone behind me. (inducing road rage due to my grandma-like accelerating habits which turn normal drivers into dangerous hot-heads)

Anyhow I'm done "arguing" in this thread about this subject, if there's anything else that catches my eye or questions/ideas that I might have I'll add, but I see our bickering going pretty much nowhere.



EDIT: Actually hakcenter I dare you to try and see how many mpgs you can get out of a tank of gas, of course you have jackal and can lean it out so you'll probably get better mileage than I did but I want you to understand what kind of driving it takes to get that kind of mileage.... You'll want to shoot yourself after that first tank.
 
I looked at it. Thats crazy to get that with those mods. I got 18.5 last time I checked it...But that WAS with a bit of playing around...ok a lot! LOL
