I have a 95 Eagle Talon i just bought. When i bought it the CEL was on due to having no cats and a bad coolant temp sensor, i have since than replaced the CTS and used the vibrant performance o2 bypass, and that has shut the CEL off. It has a small 16g turbo, a vented SARD BOV (I know, i know) a full 3" apexi catlass exhaust, and that's about as much as i know other than bolt ons such as aftermarket radiator etc.. It has had some bad problems running super rich and even getting to the point where it seems like it floods and wont start until it sits overnight, still barely starts in the morning. As far as i know this car has never been tuned (previous owner was obviously an idiot) so i'm thinking there is nothing wrong with the car except in needs a tune really bad. I have no tuning experience whatsoever but have been studying ECMlinkV3 quite a bit, my question is will i even be able to tune my car having no experience? Is using link fairly easy to learn? My other question is i would like to vent to the atmosphere (sorry i like the sound) and see the best way to do this is MAFT, how exactly does this work? where does it hookup because i know it doesn't go where the stock MAF is to vent atmospherically. By the way it was vented when i bought it, i would never have done that on stock tuning. Thank you very much for anyone that can help me out.

What all are you mods? It sounds like you have issues that tuning will not solve or will simply cover up. If you want help with the car send me a message and I'll get you my number. I'm only an hour away and I can help you do whatever is needed on the car. Also I know my way around link very well and can help you get a good tune dialed in.

I'd also recommend skipping the MAFT and going to SD. It's cheaper and better. I'd also look into an evo 8 ecu swap instead of link. I've got the tactrix 2.0 cable to tune, so all you'd need is the ecu and I'd recommend the knock sensor.

95 ecu has a eprom ecu. buy link for like 300-400 dollars new or used . great stuff.

or buy a 98 -99 ecu and get a tactrix cable to tune that way. around 350 total to start tuning

My list of mods includes: S16G turbo, SARD BOV vented, MSD wires, Full catless APEXi exhaust, I just put in new plugs gapped to .028. Thats pretty much as far as affecting engine performance goes. I'm glad to find someone so close, i haven't been able to find anyone that can diagnose the car, everyone has just said get it tuned, and i would like to stick with my ECU and just get it socketed and run link. I would like to just get it running normal right now on about 10-13 psi of boost while i save up and do a full motor rebuild and everything, this is my project car.

Definitely have other issues. I have a 1.3u tactrix so if you feel comfortable bringing it to CG I can log and help you diagnose the issue. A tune definitely isn't going to fix the problems.

I'll PM you my number.

This may be the cause of a lot of problems you may be having (venting to the atmosphere inproperly).

Yeah I knew this was bad but didn't know if it would cause the car to run so poorly, when the car is cold the AFR gauge is pegged all the way in rich, when it starts to warm up it runs pretty good cruising around, still kind of rich, under boost it runs super rich and backfires sometimes. I'm well aware this car needs a lot of work, including a new turbo, I would just like to figure out what's wrong with it and just drive it real calmly until I can save up and rebuild it and do it right.
