Edm,
I started out going to do a fuel pump re wire, but when I opened up the panel in the trunk I found my sending unit to be quite rusty (suprise!) So I started tearing it and the tank out, to rinse the tank out throughly, and clean up the sender..

My question is, one line had a check valve on it, am I right in thinking this was the one that went to the emission lines/charcoal canister? I've recently removed my egr and canister, so can I just cap off that line in the back now, remove check valve and stick a bolt in the hose?

Anyone know the sizes of hose needed off hand? Looks to be like 5/8 for the one that goes to the filler neck, 1/4" for the smallest one, and I had a piece of 3/8's, but it was a touch big for the medium sized one, so maybe 5/16?..

thanks,

The charcoal canister line should not be capped off. This line vents off pressure from the tank so you need to leave it open. The easiest thing to do is to put a hose onto the hard line in the engine bay and point it towards the underside of the car.

Ok, well I've seen some cap it off. But how about just having the line hang off the side of the tank then, no need to hook it back up the front of the car and have fumes up there.

Well I'm finally home again and put the tank back in this evening. I left that vent line just hang off the side of the tank (It's the smallest hard line coming out of the top center of the tank correct?). But one thing had me wondering.. People speak of the tank being pressurized, how so if it has this vent line?
