Nope but leave the electrical connected. Not much a benefit vacuum bypassing it since it still needs to be electrically connected
But if you still vacuum bypass it, it may throw a code every once an' awhile

thanx i left the vacume lines unhooked from it only cause the way i mounted it it was in the way and if i dont need it why leave it attached i left it plugged in and zip tied away so you cant see it:thumb: if i encounter any problems with it ill hook it back up and post to leave it hooked up and post why
 
You can leave the vacum lines unhooked and not get a CEL, what the FPR solenoid does is blocks off vacum to the FPR during hot restarts to raise fuel pressure and richen the mixture to make up for some of the things that happen when a hot engine sits and then is restarted.. If anything it being unhooked will make hot re-starts stall more often
 
Yeah Glenn I was just noting it might once or twice just because I remember a thread where a guy got a brief CEL that said FPS even though it wasnt hooked up via hoses and electronically sound. Code was totally out the blue no reason never before and never again after

Hell, i could be wrong too, the damn OBD-II computer can pretty much tell if you fart in the drivers seat and will throw a code if you do LOL

I HATE obd-II :mad: It's one of the main factors as to why i went stand alone int the first place. That and the DSM ECU's desire to pull tming to 8-9* when you go WOT and then slowly give it back to you - i was smoking every other 16g car in the area by just having my timing at 16* solid under all boost with good pump 91 gas, and that's no lie, that was my "secret" to making so much more power with less parts on the same 16g turbo

I just hated how i could do multiple pulls and they would feel comnpletely different from each other depending on how much timing the ECU would give me.. one was great, the next one would suck ass, then i'd get a halfway decent pull and then another great one or bad one depending on the ECU's mood...errrmade me so mad

I've thought about standalone alot -even though I've hardly gotten into stock ECU tuning- just because I like the idea of a straight forward performance-in-mind type of deal, no messing around. I also wanted to clean the hell out of the engine bay and make a straight up warrior for those kinda days that you wanna rip everywhere you go (I live in very boring countryside type areas) Then I would buy a super clean stock 99' GSX with black/tan leather interior and the rare deep red color exterior for sexy time :D

Glenn I wanted to let ya know one of these days that I find your posts enthusiastic and fun, sometimes it seems regular members blurr messages into a blob of black text and pixels which is very dull nonetheless
